Former Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Bekim Haxhiu spoke about the issue of the presidential election, which is expected to be held in March. On the “Info Nata” show on Tëvë1, Haxhiu emphasized the importance of electing a candidate who represents the citizens and not political parties.
“I think this issue will be resolved with a consensus for a candidate who is representative of the citizens and not a candidate who serves a political party or an individual,” said Haxhiu.
He criticized the current president, Vjosa Osmani, emphasizing that during her mandate she has only served the government of Albin Kurti and LVV, without equal treatment for citizens and other political entities.
“Vjosa Osmani does not deserve to receive a new mandate because she has proven that she has only served Albin Kurti and LVV during this period. She has not had the courage to return any unconstitutional law to the “Kurti” government. She has signed all the laws without resistance,” Haxhiu added.
Haxhiu also stressed that as a lawyer, Osmani has not defended the integrity of institutions and constitutionality. “Someone who does not defend the institutions and constitutionality in this country does not deserve to be president,” he said, warning that the PDK will not vote for her for a new mandate.
