PRISTINA – Municipal teams in the capital have been deployed to the field and remain on high alert to ensure public safety as weather conditions take a sharp turn. In an official statement, the Municipality of Pristina confirmed that its emergency crews are fully prepared to intervene wherever necessary to keep the city’s infrastructure secure and functional.
With temperatures plummeting, officials are sounding the alarm for motorists, particularly those navigating the capital’s outskirts.
“Due to the onset of low temperatures, we are calling on all citizens to exercise heightened caution while driving,” the Municipality stated. “This is especially critical in rural and mountainous areas, where the risk of black ice and potential landslides poses a significant threat to road safety.”
To mitigate risks on the road, authorities have issued a set of mandatory safety recommendations for all commuters:
-
Equip for the Season: Ensure vehicles are fitted with proper winter equipment.
-
Adjust Speed: Drivers are urged to reduce their speed to match road conditions.
-
Follow Guidance: Strict adherence to road signs and instructions from local authorities is essential.
The Municipality concluded by assuring the public that monitoring will remain constant. Teams are stationed to provide immediate intervention, aiming to guarantee that traffic continues to flow as safely as possible throughout the cold spell.
