Amid the paparazzi, rumors, and voices that are usually fueled by social media, Gabriel Garko managed to do something rare for a public figure like him: get married and keep it completely secret from the media.
Invited to the show “Verissimo”, the actor proudly showed off the ring on his finger, confirming for the first time his marriage to his partner, Giorgio. A love story lived in maximum privacy, but who is Giorgio and what does he do?
In “Verissimo”, Gabriel Garko spoke openly about his private life, revealing that he is married to Giorgio, with whom he has been in a relationship for four years. When moderator Silvia Toffanin asked him: “Would you like to get married?”, the 53-year-old actor answered naturally:
“We’re married. I got married two years ago. Here’s the ring!”
No magazine covers and no public announcements: just a private ceremony, with very few people present. “I married Giorgio two years ago. There were only four of us in the town hall and I didn’t even tell my family beforehand,” he said.
“My public life has always been very public, almost like a soap opera,” Garko confessed, explaining why he had chosen privacy for one of the most important days of his life. “Then I had stories that I kept to myself. I kept those truths to myself. I give a lot of importance to privacy and I don’t think everything should be said.”
The marriage took place in complete secrecy on December 2, 2024.
“I organized everything so that the news wouldn’t get out. I didn’t tell anyone, not even our families, who found out that same day. It was something I wanted to do for myself.”
Even the date was not chosen by chance:
“I decided to get married when I felt good about myself. It was close to Christmas, when everyone is busy with gifts, so I thought that even at the registry office they wouldn’t understand right away. And that’s how it happened.”

Garko says now is the right time to share this truth: “I’ve hidden a lot in my life. I don’t want to do it anymore.”
Who is Giorgio, Gabriel Garko’s husband? “His name is Giorgio. We are very reserved,” said the actor, currently the protagonist of the series “Colpa dei sensi”. Known for four years, Giorgio has never accompanied Garko to public events and has never been part of his Instagram profile. Garko explained that his husband is not part of the world of spectacle, but did not provide other details.
“Everyone has to be okay with themselves first, know their boundaries and set them even in a relationship,” he explained. “Everyone needs their own space, their own habits. No one should dominate the other. I think we were created to be in a couple.”
For many years, Gabriel Garco was the symbol of the romantic and mysterious male of Italian TV series. A figure that brought success and popularity, but which he himself has described as a “golden prison”. He came out of this chapter in 2020, a step that gave him the freedom to be himself and to publicly admit that he is gay.
“I found myself at a point where either I would do it, or someone else would do it in a more brutal way,” he told La Repubblica. “I said it naturally and I was relieved of a burden.”

Gabriel Garko, whose real name is Dario Oliver, has worked as a model, but gained more fame through acting. He started acting in the late ’90s, but his peak was in the drama series “L’onore e il rispetto”, through which he became known to the Albanian public in the role of the mafia boss, Tonio Fortebracci.
